Vietnam’s history is vast. Though most people only consider war when Vietnam is mentioned, there are lots of places of interest for visitors. A lot of them date back over 3,000 years.
The Temple of Literature
Within the northern capital of Hanoi sits the oldest university in Vietnam, the Temple of Literature. First utilized as a university in the year 1076, the varsity was set inside walls of an Confucian temple integrated 1070.
Indrapura
The Champa Kingdom flourished in what’s now central and southern Vietnam prior to the 10th century. Their Indian influenced capital was referred to as Indrapura and visitors can find impressive ruins to explore here.
Dong Son Culture
Thanh Hoa Province may be the site of ruins on the Dong Son culture. The Dong Son culture are famous for their distinctive bronze drums, some of which go as far back to 1200 BCE. Continue reading
